It is with immense gratitude and pride that I stand before you today to celebrate a significant milestone—my 40th anniversary as an admitted attorney. What makes this occasion even more special is reflecting on the journey of our firm, which began as a humble practice with just one employee and has grown into the thriving business we see today, employing over 100 dedicated individuals.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work, loyalty, and passion of our incredible staff (Pros & Support Teams). To every team member—past and present—thank you. Your commitment to excellence, long hours, and belief in our vision have been the foundation of our success. Whether you’ve been here since the early days or joined us along the way, each of you has played a vital role in shaping this firm into what it is today.
A special tribute goes to my business partner, Mr Matlala. He has been my rock, my sounding board, and my greatest ally through every challenge and triumph. Mokone, your wisdom, resilience, and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in our growth. This firm is as much yours as it is mine, and I am endlessly grateful for your partnership and friendship over the years.
But above all, I must acknowledge the people who have sacrificed the most—my family.
To my wife, you have been my anchor, my confidante, and my greatest supporter for all these years. You carried the weight of our home when I was buried in case files, celebrated my victories as if they were your own, and stood by me through every late night and stressful moment. They say behind every successful person is a strong partner, and in my case, that could not be truer. Thank you for your endless love, patience, and belief in me.
To my children—you grew up with a father who was often pulled in a thousand directions, yet you never made me feel guilty for the time I spent building this practice. Instead, you cheered me on, made me laugh, and reminded me what truly matters. I am so proud of the people you’ve become, and I hope you know that every sacrifice was made with you in mind.
Forty years ago, I could never have imagined the heights we would reach. We started with little more than a dream and a determination to serve our clients with integrity. Along the way, we faced setbacks, celebrated victories, and—most importantly—built a culture of trust, innovation, and excellence.
