Mamotloung Lydia Monyane holds a B- Iuris degree (1985-1988) from University of Limpopo, and LLB  from University of Witwatersrand (1989-1991).She was admitted as an attorney in 1994. She did her articles with Lephoko Ledwaba Attorneys. On completion of her articles, she was appointed as a Professional Assistant and later as a Partner. She is also a Small Claim Court Commissioner.

She obtained vast experience in civil litigation in Magistrate and High Court,family law, commercial law, drafting of contracts, debt collection, personal injury claims and administration of deceased estates.

She is also admitted as a Notary and Conveyancer with key areas of practice include the registration of properties, mortgage bonds, cancellation of bonds, general and special bonds and registration of servitudes.
